10 Sims 4 Legacy Challenges Based On Music, Movies & TV
I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to TV shows and movies, so these fun pop culture-inspired legacy challenges combine two of my favourite things!
I’ve put together a list of creative challenges that take iconic characters, storylines, and themes from music, TV, and film and turn them into legacy heirs!
Whether you want to raise a household of Pokémon Sims, recreate a classic sitcom cast, or play a dramatic movie-worthy story from one generation to the next, I hope you find a legacy challenge that brings your fandom to life—Sim style!
1. Taylor Swift Eras Legacy
If you’re a Taylor Swift fan, the Eras Legacy Challenge is a great way to explore the musical eras of your fave pop icon!
Play through different generations, which capture the emotions and themes of albums such as Fearless, Red, Reputation, and Midnights.
2. The Disney Princess Legacy Challenge
This popular challenge was originally created for The Sims 3 and shared on The Sims forums. As you may have guessed, each heir is inspired by a different princess, ranging from Snow White to Merida.

3. Pokémon Legacy Challenge
The Pokémon Legacy Challenge is a fun six-generation challenge inspired by the idea of building your own Pokémon team. You choose a starter heir —grass, fire, or water — which determines the initial Sim’s characteristics and goals.
Each generation is themed after different Pokémon types and focuses on in-game collections, suggesting you display them in a family museum.
4. Sitcom Legacy Challenge
The Sitcom Legacy Challenge is a unique five-generation challenge where you can live the life of popular sitcom characters!
Each generation is themed around the iconic shows Friends, Full House, Fuller House, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. Every heir brings Sim life to a particular character, emulating their personality, career, and story arc.
5. Shows Legacy Challenge
If you want to binge-play your favourite TV shows instead of just watching them, the Shows Legacy Challenge is the challenge you’re looking for!
This challenge takes inspiration from series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Stranger Things and The Office, with each generation putting a Sim spin on the familiar characters and themes of each show.
6. Silver Screen Sims Legacy Challenge
The Silver Screen Sims Legacy Challenge has two versions for you to choose from. You can play through the glamorous world of Classical Hollywood cinema or take a trip back to the 80s with generations based on iconic movies like Pretty in Pink and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
7. Hunger Games Legacy Challenge
This creative challenge is inspired by the various districts in The Hunger Games.
Each generation of Sims lives according to the lifestyle of their district, and when sims reach their teenage years, a reaping occurs. So, don’t get too attached to your Sims!
8. The Horror Legacy Challenge
If horror films are more your thing, the Horror Legacy Challenge is a seven-generation legacy inspired by different horror movies such as Scream and Friday the 13th. This challenge is a fun way to explore the spooky side of The Sims!
9. Barbie Legacy Challenge
Build your own Barbie Dreamhouse with the Barbie legacy challenge! In each generation, you’ll play as a female Sim named Barbie, playing through different dolls and careers, such as pet vet and rockstar.
10. The Sour Legacy Challenge
The Sour Legacy Challenge is inspired by Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album, SOUR.
There will be Sim heartbreak, growth, and self-discovery, as each generation is based on a track from the popular album. And if that’s not enough, creator dizzywhims also created a challenge for her second album, Guts!
